Yael Stein Yael Stein, who is Australian living in New York City since 2013 was the character Lorna Morrello in Orange Is the New Black. Yael has received her NIDA diploma. Yael's first job has given her to interact with Australia's top storytellers. Yael is a well-known actor in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has relocated from Australia to New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of Music's production of the play had a critical success. Yael has been a co-founder of The Cannery. Based in the Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages ideas in creative writing, as well as innovative creative projects, and supports the development of young writers.
